Announcing a January Clutter-Free Challenge
Posted: 28 Dec 2011 01:00 AM PSTHave you ever opened a closet door on a Saturday afternoon, filled with great intentions to organize it? Have you ever immediately shut the same door (discouraged and disgusted) before putting anything in the cute wicker baskets you bought at Target?
So have I.
The problem is I instinctively know I don’t want to organize shoes I no longer wear, clothes that are out of style and belts from the 80s (pre-kids) that might only fit around my upper arm now.
After all, why organize clutter?
This is a problem in many of our lives. We’ve got more “stuff” than we can manage – whether it’s on our schedules or in our closets. And this stuff drains our energy and steals our creativity. We end up shuffling things around to make room on one counter, only to move it the next day. There’s got to a be a simpler way to live. And there is.
If you feel overwhelmed by the clutter in your life, I hope you’ll join me in a few weeks on a 15-Day Living Clutter-Free Challenge. It’s based on my book, “I Used to Be So Organized,” but you don’t have to buy the book to participate. It’s completely free, and I promise you’ll feel more focused, creative and motivated once you are done.
Here’s how it will work. Starting January 9th, Monday through Friday for three week, I’ll walk you through the process of decluttering your mind, schedule and most areas of your home. Each post is short, and includes practical tips you can apply to your life. I don’t expect you’ll be able to apply the tips immediately, so these posts will stay in my archives under “Clutter Free,” so you can come back when you’ve got time to deal with that area of your life.
To sign up, just enter your email address in the box in the sidebar on the right (below where it says to receive my posts by email) or sign up in an RSS feed. If you are already a subscriber to my blog, you don’t need to do anything. Once the series is over, please feel free to stay as a subscriber to my blog, or unsubscribe. I promise my feelings won’t be hurt. :)
I hope you’ll join me, as we uncover, declutter and reclaim our minds, schedules and homes. Once we do so, we’ll be freer to obey God in these areas of our lives.
Grace & Peace,
Glynnis
I'm up for the challenge!
